Stadttheater Cöpenick
Am 14. Februar 1889 öffnete das Stadttheater Cöpenick in Klein‘s Hotel am Alten Markt in Cöpenick erstmals seine Pforten. Man gab den Schwank, „Wie man sich eine Frau verschafft“. Damit war die künstlerische Ausrichtung des Theaters festgelegt. Anspruchsvolle Unterhaltung und Boulevard-Theaters, so wie es auch heute noch ist. Nach 40 Jahren „Dornröschenschlaf“ schlug am Gründonnerstag 1992 die Stunde der Wiedergeburt des Theaters. Dazu wurde ein für Berlin einzigartiges Konzept zur Pflege der Bühnentradition entwickelt: die Entwicklung zum Kieztheater, mit Märchen- und Puppenspielveranstaltungen für Kinder, Komödien, Kabarett und Kleinkunstprogramme für die ganze Familie sowie anspruchsvolle Gastspiele. Im Abendprogramm begeistern seit 2011 „Ganze Kerle“ das Publikum. Dazu gibt es in Koproduktion mit dem Kabarett SachsenDreyer seit Herbst 2012 die „Gülden Girls from Germany“ und ab Februar 2013 bereits den 2. Loriot-Abend unter dem Titel: „Moooment!“
On 14 February 1889 the “Stadttheater Cöpenick” opened its doors for the first time in Klein’s Hotel at the Old Market in Köpenick with the comedy “How You Can Quickly Acquire a Woman.” Thus the artistic tendency of the theater was established: Sophisticated entertainment and boulevard theater as it still is today. After the “Stadttheater Cöpenick” lay in “Dornröschenschlaf ” for about 40 years it reopened in the Easter days 1992. For this a unique concept for Berlin was developed: The “Neighborhood Theater” which takes care for the theatre traditions with tales and puppet events for children, comedy, cabaret and programs for the whole family as well as ambitious guest appearances. In the evening program the play “Tough Guys” enthralls the audience. Part of our repertoire also its the “Gülden Girls from Germany” (created in co-production with the cabaret SachsenDreyer in autumn 2012). In February 2013 starts the second Loriot-Event under the title: “Moooment!”
