Olek Konrad Witt

Theaterregisseur, Performer, Schauspieler und Theaterpädagoge. - Geboren in Polen, emigrierte 1978 nach Deutschland. Er studierte Philosophie, Soziologie, Politikwissenschaft und Theater an den Universitäten Heidelberg, London und Berlin. Ab 1989 Studium von Tanz und Schauspiel an der Akademie für Visuelle Kunst in Posen, an der Deutschen Schauspielakademie in Berlin und bei Yumiko Yoshioka, Minako Seki und Kazou Ohno. Er arbeitete als Performer bei den Theaterkompanien Tatoeba, Artscenico, Kreatur und Thikwa. 1995 gründete er das Theater am Ende und schuf Site-specific Performances. 1997 erhielt er für sein Solo "Axt" den Sonderpreis für das beste Tanz-Solo beim Festival "euro-Szene" in Leipzig. 2003 gründete er in Solingen das Ensemble spinaTheater. 2008 gründete er in Berlin die interkulturelle Gruppe Theater der Migranten. 2019 gründete er das Performancekollektiv re-Publik Performance. Er unterrichtet weltweit Performancekunst, Schauspiel und Körperbewusstsein.

He studied philosophy, sociology, political science and drama at the Universities of Heidelberg, London and Berlin. 1989 he started to study dance, acting and performing art at the Academy for Visual Art in Pozna?, at the Deutsche Schauspielakademie in Berlin and in trainings with Yumiko Yoshioka, Minako Seki, Kazou Ohno, Zygmunt Molik. He worked as performer with theatre companies tatoeba, artscenico, Kreatur and Thikwa. 1995 he founded the Theater am Ende and created site-specific performances. 1997 he received for his Solo "Axt" the special price for Best Dance-Solo at the festival "euro scene" in Leipzig. 2003 he founded in Solingen the ensemble spinaTheater. 2008 he founds in Berlin the cross-culture group Theater der Migranten. 2019 he founded the performance collective re-Publik Performance which focuses on culture of remembrance. He teaches worldwide performance, acting and body awareness.
